Medusa combines a tried and tested radar product with the market leading Sitescape² DCCTV solution. Capable of detecting threats out to 800m in all conditions and automatically track multiple targets with up to five individual cameras. Medusa heralds a new era in perimeter and intrusion management.
Medusa dovetails 1mm radar, DCCTV technology and networked DVR systems together to provide a cutting edge and foolproof security solution the automatically tracks any intruders outside of and inside a perimeter. Medusa-based solutions are ideally suited to any valuable/vulnerable commercial or government installations such as; airports, ports, prisons, borders, drilling platforms on land and at sea, mining facilities, in fact any site that is at risk form intrusion.
Deploying a networked array of overlapping radar in conjunction with long range DCCTV an entire whole perimeter can be monitored from a single control point. Interception of intruders can now be managed by small mobile security units able to view the intruders as they move to intercept, eliminating the need for costly personnel to patrol perimeters.
Medusa is totally programmable and provides the operator with complete control with friend/ or foe recognition, configurable radar signature inputs and all information capable of being overlaid on to an aerial photograph, map, plans and the like, making decisions on degree of threat and deployment of security elements much easier.
Each radar unit constantly scans a full 360 º across the entire designated area, from close range (<10m) up to 800m. When a ‘target’ or intruder is detected in a pre-programmed ‘hot zone’ the radar will command the DCCTV camera/s in that zone to swing, zoom and focus on the potential threat/s. Sitescape² will immediately start recording the incident at 25fps and spontaneously bring the camera image up onto the alarm monitor.
At this point, the operator will be able to see, in real time, the potential threat and decide ( subject to standard operating procedures) on a course of action, if required. Whilst the operator is deciding on a course of action the camera/s will continue to track the threat until such time the operator decides they are friendly or do not present a threat. If identified as friendly the system will not raise them as a threat whilst they remain within the range of the system.
