IES security technology has been in use on garage forecourts since the conception of the company. In more recent times IES have supplied a wide range of security solutions to other parts of the Oil industry.
Oil companies have long realised the possiblilty of very different security threats impacting across their full range of their business operations, and how different security technologies can be required across these diverse areas. Exploration sites may require temporary and portable surveillance. Oil refineries have extremely large perimeters that may require a radar solution for intrusion detection. Sources of distribution, such as oil trucks, are also at risk and require non-conventional security such as a Mobile Digital Video Recording Systems.
IES have carefully selected technology partners to combine with our integration expertise across all these areas in order to provide a total security solutions for organisations within this industry. Although each total security solution will be tailored to the exacting needs of each client, IES have a proven background in combining the technologies required to provide an highly stable solutions.
IES offer a unique solution combining IP66 high tech personnel radar with a sophisticated surveillance management system, called Medusa. By continuously scanning an area covering a 360 degree circular field of 1800 meters in diameter, Medusa enables security personnel to detect and track intruders long before they reach your perimeters. Several targets can be monitored simultaneously and each target’s coordinates are passed to the surveillance system, which controls and moves PTZ cameras to automatically follow the targets.
The system can distinguish between various objects within the specified range, thus preventing alarms raised by animals moving into the field of detection. Multiple detection zones can be defined within each radar field and several radar units can be combined to enlarge the detection area to cover several kilometres. Medusa also detects threats that are too far away to be picked up by normal perimeter detection systems.

In cases where areas are too vast to be covered by conventional CCTV or even by Radar, individually identified week areas may need to be covered for short periods of time. In this instance, a rugged battery powered DVR can prove invaluable.
Abacus² offers all of the features of a conventional SiteScape DVR in the form of a ruggedised laptop. With the ability to connect any type of analogue camera and a choice of any of the supported IP cameras, this technology offers real adaptability to the installation.

The IES Mobile DVR differs from Abacus², being a specialised DVR solution designed purely for installation within vehicles, with power requirements specified to run efficiently from the vehicle’s power source. This technology is ideal for integration within oil trucks. Up to 4 cameras can be connected to a highly rugged DVR unit that will record any security breeches whilst the trucks expensive cargo is in transit.
