Whirlpool (USA)
Whirlpool has invested in a Sitescape² digital recording and CCTV management system to capture and review video footage across its head office in Michigan (US). Whirlpool employs over 31,000 people in North America, with the majority of employees working in head office or one of the surrounding buildings.

All the buildings at this enormous site are monitored around the clock by either 8 or 16 camera IES multiplexers, each of which offer up to one month’s storage of video recordings. In addition to this, the security department are using network viewing software to connect to each of the multiplexers. Live images and playback of recorded incidents can therefore be viewed across Whirlpool’s corporate network, and recordings can be exported to standard AVI files to local drives or external media such as recordable CDs.

Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (UAE)
The Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) has invested in a Sitescape² digital recording and CCTV management system to capture and review video footage across most of its petrol filling stations in the United Arab Emirates.

All ADNOC sites across the country are fitted with either 8 or 16 camera IES multiplexers. The sites vary in size from small petrol stations with only 6 pumps requiring 4 cameras to large service stations with shops and restaurants requiring 16 cameras. The scalability of the Sitescape² platform has led to very little redundancy in their use.

One of the primary reasons for ADNOC’s selection of an IES security solution was our ability to allow the viewing of both live footage and recorded incidents across the IP network. ADNOC have future-proofed by purchasing an IES security solution with this operational requirement in mind, and are now embarking on a company-wide programme of measures to increase general security, enabled by their choice of an IES security solution.

South African Revenue Service
Having consolidated their Audit, Collections and Estates activities into the new Gauteng West Enforcement Centre located in Johannesburg, the South African Revenue Service (SARS) has invested in a Sitescape² to capture and review video footage.

13 IES multiplexers provide control and recording for up to 208 cameras across the site. Within the control room, view any of the cameras (from any of the multiplexers) can be monitored from any of the stations by SARS personnel. IES keyboard at each of these stations can be used to control the camera telemetry.

The site’s access control system has been integrated within the IES solution, triggering telemetry to move cameras to high-risk areas upon signals from alarms such as entry card swipes or fire detection, and recording starts automatically in response to such events. Images from relevant cameras are automatically displayed to viewing screens for monitoring by security personnel.
